01:48 pm - An Introduction to Philosophy... Well, after more than a year, I’ve finally been given a use for this silly blog thing. :p This, and the next 15 or so entries will be related to my Philosophy class, and are in fact assignments. We are to create and maintain a journal on the materials for the week and turn them in, post them, whatever. I think this would be a cool way to do it. So, for those few people who’ve put me on their friends list, you might start seeing more activity to my site. Feel free to drop a comment or discuss, and I’ll try to make regular visits here (as opposed to just visiting my friends pages directly).

03:32 pm - Medical Trials on an unsuspecting public Medical Trials on an unsuspecting public
A company called Northfield Lab has created an artificial blood called PolyHeme and is in the process of testing it on the general public.
This, in and of itself, is a wonderful thing, providing it works. With the rise of Aids and other diseases carried in the blood, many blood banks have a tough time keeping reserves at an acceptable level. An artificial replacement is a really cool thing

10:53 pm - Gotta love the phishers... Today I received a phishing attempt from someone claiming to be from the National Credit Union Administration.
The attempt was automatically labeled by gmail as spam, but since it wasn't the typical "update your eBay account" (something I do not have) I took a look at it.
Sure enough, the "click here" link on the page in question did not direct you to the NCUA web site, but to some site with just an IP address.
Same song, different day, or something like that.
I reported it to the NCUA (there is a handy link on their home page about this) and since whoever is doing this is falsely representing themselves as a US Government agency, I'm certain they will be hunted down and caught.
So, to whomever it is sending these emails out, please enjoy your stay in the nice federal-run facility. Make some new friends, and don't drop the soap.

05:45 am - A milestone day. Today, I made the final payment on my pickup. Not a terribly unusual thing, in and of itself. I've bought and paid off cars before. What makes this one different? This is the first NEW car I've bought.
It's taken me 41 years to accomplish, but I've done it. Feels good. :) Current Mood: ecstatic Current Music: None

11:08 pm - Well, here it is... Live Journal was recommended to me be a guildie from World of Warcraft. Unfortunately, I've left her user name at home, so I won't mention her here.
I'll post random stuff here from time to time. Whenever I come across something I feel I need to rant about, or comment on, whatever. Apparently, this is what this site is for.
If your reading this, pleased to meet you! Make yourself at home, post a comment, or whatever. It's doubtful you'll find much here, but one never knows. Current Mood: working Current Music: Rolling Stones
